Best Homemade Popsicles For Pregnancy Nausea

When Can Morning Sickness Affect You?

When it comes to when you will experience nausea during pregnancy, every individual is different. For the majority of women, it starts around week 6 of pregnancy and fades by the third or fourth month of the pregnancy. Every woman is different in terms of when her morning sickness peaks, however, it is normally around week 9 for most.

Fortunately, there are several natural remedies for nausea, and this anti-nausea popsicle recipe is an excellent addition to your nausea-fighting arsenal. A recipe for a morning sickness smoothie is included below for those who like smoothies.

Will Popsicles Take My Nausea Away While Pregnant?

Yes. In fact, popsicles are an excellent way to combat morning sickness and remain hydrated during pregnancy. They’re fast and simple to prepare, and you can keep them in the freezer for those unexpected bouts of sickness.

Best Popsicles For Pregnancy Nausea:

Anti-Nausea Pops With Berries

  • 3 cups organic strawberries
  • 2 bananas, sliced
  • 1 cup organic blueberries
  • 1 cup organic apple juice or coconut water
  • 1 cup organic, vanilla, Greek yogurt
  • 2 Tbsp. hone
  • 1 Tbsp fresh grated ginger

 Directions:

  • Fruit should be washed and chopped before being added to the blender.
  • Blend the remaining ingredients in a high-powered blender until smooth.
  • Fresh ginger is stronger and works best, although powdered ginger may work if you don’t have access to the fresh kind.
  • Using pop sticks or whatever works, pour into popsicle moulds/paper cups.
  • Freeze it, enjoy it, and you’ll feel better!

They’re even better when they’re served to you in bed first thing in the morning.

Anti-Nausea Pops With Watermelon

Ingredients

  • 4 cup chopped watermelon
  • 1/4 cup pieces of fresh ginger root
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 2 tbsp honey (optional for a sweeter popsicle)

Method

  • Bring water to a boil. While the water is heating up, wash and chop the ginger and measure out 1/4 cup. There’s no need to peel all of the skin. Pour 1 cup boiling water over the ginger into a glass.
  • Allow 5 minutes for the ginger and water to chill on the counter before transferring to the fridge for 10 minutes to cool even further.
  • While you’re waiting for your ginger tea to cool down, cut and peel the watermelon. It should yield about 4 cups cut up and then placed in a blender
  • Pour the ginger tea into your blender after it has reached room temperature or is chillier.
  • Blend on high speed until completely smooth. If you want chunks of watermelon in your smoothie, mix 3 cups until smooth, then add 1 cup and blend just enough to retain some chunks intact.
  • Pour the mixture into the popsicle moulds and insert the popsicle sticks. Freeze for 6 to 8 hours.

Orange Creamsicle Popsicles

To start off with, you’ll need some ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Package Orange Jello (3 Ounces)
  • ½ Cup Boiling Water (125ml)
  • 1 Pint Half and Half (500ml) – ¼ Pound Sugar (125g) – ⅛ Teaspoon Salt – 4 Cups Ice Cubes (500ml)
  • 2 Tablespoons Vanilla Extract (30ml)
  • A Can of Diet Orange Soda (2 Liter, Optional but Recommended for Flavoring and Aesthetic Appeal)
  • 3 Small Cups or Ice Cream Buckets
  • Pop sticks or Wooden Skewers

First, you’re going to want to get a good-sized bowl. Half of it should be filled with cold water and ice cubes. In a separate bowl get about 1½ cups of sugar and ¼ pound of salt. Add your chilled orange jello to this bowl and stir until the salt is dissolved.

Then you have to combine all three bowls together in the following order: Jello, Half & Half, Sugar Mix.

Now take your ice cream machine and pour the delicious mixture in. Turn it on and leave for 20 minutes! While you’re waiting, cut up your oranges into small or large chunks depending on how big or small you want your popsicles to be.

When the time is over, add the vanilla extract, orange soda (optional), and your oranges into the ice cream machine. Stir until blended together thoroughly.

Finally, pour this mixture in a popsicle or ice cream bucket and add in your wooden skewers or pop sticks! Now you’re all done! Just freeze for a few hours and you can enjoy your treat when it’s ready!

Note: The more orange soda you use, the more orange flavour is added. It won’t necessarily be tangy but it will have a hint of orange to it.

Raspberry Limeade Popsicles

  • To make them, you will need the following ingredients:
  • Sweetened lime juice (5 tablespoons)
  • Raspberries (2 cups, fresh or frozen)
  • Sugar (4 tablespoons of granulated sugar, not a sugar substitute)
  • 1 cup plain yogurt. You can use whole milk yogurt or low-fat yogurt. Plain Greek yogurt will give it a tangier flavour.
  • 1 cup of water
  • Fruit (better if fresh). These can include berries, peaches pineapple, kiwi fruit, apricots, or mangoes. You can mix and match to create your own blend or just use one type of fruit.

Here’s what you do:

Throw all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until it is completely smooth. Pour this mixture into your popsicles moulds and freeze or refrigerate overnight. Once they are frozen, run them under hot water for a few seconds to loosen them out of the moulds. Enjoy! 

Strawberry Lemonade Popsicles

Strawberries are well known as an excellent source of vitamin C. They also contain several other important minerals and antioxidants providing numerous health benefits.

What you need:

  • Strawberries
  • Lemon Juice (1/2 cup)
  • Sugar to taste (optional)

How to prepare:

Blend strawberries and lemon juice and freeze into popsicles. Serve as a healthy snack or as a dessert.

Mango Coconut Popsicles

In order to make these popsicles, you will need the following:

Ingredients :

  • 2 large ripe mangoes, peeled and chopped (about 3 cups)
  • 1 can (15 ounces) full-fat coconut milk, well shaken before opening
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 5 tablespoons lime juice
  • Lime slices for garnish

Directions:

In a food processor or blender puree the mango until smooth. Add coconut milk, lime juice, and sugar. Puree again until smooth. Pour the mixture into popsicle molds or small paper cups with popsicle sticks in them. If you are using paper cups (you can use plastic if you like), freeze for about 1 to 2 hours and then insert a toothpick in each popsicle to release the popsicles from the cup. If you are using a mold, freeze overnight and simply remove them from the molds. Garnish with lime slices, if desired.
